so what are you guys eating tomorrow morning? gotta make it big, in march when i took the SAT we got out at like 12:45. I've got a big salami/turkey/vegi/dutch crunch sandwich... thatll hold me

I recommend chocolate:) It is very well known that it can affect your thinking, especially quantative reasoning. BUT only black chocolate. Neither milk nor white count.
Anyway, helped me this fall with the SAT.:)

its proven that if u chew cinammon flavored gum during a test, u remember things better ---- i read an article in a paper about it --- im gonna try it :-D

elberet... I just called my mom who's out shopping and told her to get me some dark chocolate. =)

yay!:) good choice. at least it will be TASTY:) generally it helps, seriously.

I just have a cup of tea. That's what I do everyday, so if I have breakfast it upsets my stomach.

I actually once tested myself, last year as a Junior, taking 4 APs.

With Black Coffee + coco puffs - 5, 5 (1 morning 1 afternoon tests)

Oat Cereal, Orange Juice, Milk- 5,4 (tests 2 days apart)

Eh, looks like Honey Bunches of Oats is going to be taking a sit-out for me this year.

I always make a smoothie before an important test (instant coffee, banana, soymilk, ice)

My friends and I all met early at someone's house and her mom made us all waffles, sausage, eggs, breakfast potatoes... it was awesome. Out of the 4 times I took the SAT's (2 SAT I, 2 for II's), we had these breakfasts twice and both times I scored better than without giant breakfasts. =D

I don't eat anything before a long exam.

a) going to the bathroom mid exam sucks
b) feeling sleepy/slow sucks
c) upset stomach sucks

I'll eat a lot afterwards usually, but never before. Not worth the risk. I also did somethin new for the BC calc and studied all night the night before the night before the test. Stayed awake all the way through till 6PM and then slept until 4 AM. When the test rolled around I had been up for four hours, having had 10 hours of sleep under my belt. Could've played a full soccer game under those conditions.

i suggest against eating a high sugar meal... you might be more alert for the first half hour of the test, but after that your body ends up worse off than it was before the sugar... learned that today in health :) the movie said to eat a full well rounded breakfast with nutrients and all the good stuff.

i'm not worried about bathroom breaks.. i dont need to go every other hour, i dont think ive ever had to go at school (high school). i dont get an upset stomach after eating, you might wanna check with the doc about that. i dont think eating makes me feel really sleepy either... but having a hungry stomach would suck.

I'm going to eat the same thing I always eat. Why break a routine?

coffee and banana

zetafunction makes a good point. Straying too much from your normal routine can cause an adverse reaction from your body, even if the meal seems healthy and positive in theory.

I too recommend against eating a lot the morning of a big test. Eat your "normal" portions. If you don't, the blood flow will be redirected to your stomach. Thus, you have a greater chance of feeling sleepy, and, the blood is not all going to your head (where you want it!).

I just eat what I normally do but I've made it a habit to have coffee every Saturday anyway (because I've been going to SAT and SAT2 classes since like October) so I always drink coffee. During the test I like to have mints...I don't know if it actually helps but it makes me feel refreshed..esp those listerine pocket packs (even thought they're strong as hell.) =)

I agree with Taffy's recommendation to avoid sugar. It's like any other drug - first you get a high, then you crash. This would be great if the test were an hour long, but for an entrance exam I expect a lot of starchy foods would be good. That's what athletes eat before a big event (pasta, bready things) because it is supposed to provide energy over an extended period.
