A- is a 4.0 or 3.7 when self reporting?

I'm trying to fill out the academics section of the Commonapp, and was wondering what the best way to calculate unweighted GPA is.
Should I do
A=4 B=3 or break it down into minuses and pluses?

I think the whole letter system works much better in my favor because I have a lot of A minuses but not as many B pluses.

So yeah, how do you guys do it?

You should report the GPA provided by school or follow your school guidelines. Do not invent anything new on your own.

an A- is a 3.5, in my school.

You’ve started already? Now I’m panicking.

you should probably use either the collegeboard guideline or your school’s one

Each school weights grades differently. For my school, A- is the same as A, B+ is the same as B-, etc. We actually didn’t even have + or - on report cards until last year.

So should I just use the weighted one on my transcript? I figured UW would be better

If you want colleges to see you’re uw gpa, I would wait until school started to ask my counselor. Btw, I started the common app last year before august 1st and they wiped out the entire system of anything started before that date. I guess they thought that all of those applications belonged to class of 2010. So just be careful and back your stuff up just in case…
