if you come across this way on your application, which i hope you do, you will probably get rejected by all. Hopefully.

Who cares if you get accepted? Youre going to die of sleep deprivation anyway.

hmmm a troll, yes that's exactly what I am......
like I responded to several responses previously, just because you can't do it, doesn't mean I can't do it. You guys calling me a troll and impossible only feeds to the point that I am simply "amazing." Believe whatever you want, I could careless at this point.

All I came for was simple chances, yet out of the 60 something messages, I have only gotten about 4 chances and about 60 haters. Ok, So what am I suppose to say to ya'll who believe that I am a troll or my stats are fake?
"I am Legend?"

and to those dumbasses who believe that I will not be accepted to schools because my "arrogance" will show through my applications.

Do you actually think I will write an essay that is anything but amazing? Well.. my life kinda depends on it.

The one suspicious thing is that you would come on here and get chanced... it seems like you should be too busy.

I think for a more accurate chancing, you should provide everyone with more details about the clubs... what exactly you do in each of them, how many hours a week each one takes, etc.

Also, if you're a junior, where's your SAT score?

"I could care less at this point."

No, you couldn't care less.

Wow, get over yourself kid. Truthfully, an ego like that will get you no where inlife no matter what your (somewhat impressive compared to others on this site) credentials are. Seriously, people are trying to help you out and you're being a jerk. Here are your chances. Don't even think about insulting me because I am actually going to Cornell

Cornell (ED)-Depends which college but I'd say match/low reach
Emory-match/very low reach
UVA-Depends if you are instate or out of state. Either way I'd say high match
MIT-Super high reach
Penn-Reach
Indiana-In

Cornell - Match
Emory - no chance (your academic profile sucks)
MIT - no math/science significance
Penn - Reach
Indiana - Match

and no matter how beautiful your essays are, or how well you appear in the interview, these people are experts and they will be able to see right through.. if you want some constructive criticism, here it goes:

1) fix your attitude and your chances will increase about 50% at every school
2) focus on the stuff you love, not everything and your chances will increase even more
3) get your scores up since your GPA is very low.. i hope that is a typo because your unweighted GPA should be around 3.8+ if you want to go to these "prestigious" schools

OP, I would just like to warn you not to assume that your research will be published. The peer review process at scientific journals is highly rigorous and time consuming, and unless you have already submitted it, publication is unlikely to occur before you apply to university. In addition, most journals have above 50% rejection rates, so I would not completely bank on your paper's publication, but good luck.

"So please before going around and talking ***, plz stf and sector, I am at work, unfortunately."

Hahaha wow u must have a very demanding job (so ur including surfing the web as part of your 40 hours?)

Judging from your Gpa, you obviously cannot handle this schedule.

Your 202 psat score is low.

Colleges are looking for students, not kids who waste their time with clubs sacrificing their grades in the process. get your priorities in line.

Unless you are a minority, MIT will simply laugh at ur application and throw it away. All the others except Indiana are reaches (Im not just saying that because you are a delusional arrogant tool, based purely on your stats.)

P.S. Ok dude, u took 4 a.p.s junior year and ur weighted gpa is 3.8. wow, you must be getting Cs.

Cornell (ED) - Low reach
Emory - Match
UVA - Match/low reach
MIT - High reach; I seriously doubt it, but anything is possible
Penn - Reach
Indiana - Low match; I think you'll get in.

Hey, Handsome, why did you make a chances thread anyway? You obviously don't value our opinions.

Dude, it must have been a slow night at your dad's businesses on Wednesday, May 7th, considering you posted on this thread alone 3 times in an hour!(05-07-2008, 09:29 PM, 05-07-2008, 09:36 PM, 05-07-2008, 09:56 PM) It's ok though, everybody goofs around on message boards during work, right? You must have had tons to do, especially when you waited a whopping 5 minutes to respond after hippo57384543873454 posted at 9:51. Thursday must have been slow too, when you posted 3 times in 10 minutes. That's more than I've posted in 6 months, and I don't work 40 hours a week! Congrats dude.
And this post is far too good to be true:

And Dear Sectorr,
I highly doubt that you are a linebacker, due to the fact that linebackers usually refer to them as a specific position, such as olb, ot, and etc. Also, you are making a bad stereotype for people with officer positions.
Oh, you football expert you. Please, tell me, what kind of linebacker would ever refer to himself as an "OT"? OT stands for Offensive Tackle, a usually 250+ lb lineMAN in a 3 point stance. It's not even a defensive position. And you're wrong. Just because you've played Madden a couple of times and the position labels the NFL uses have fired a couple of your synapses doesn't mean you're suddenly high school football extraordinaire. I've played varsity ball for 3 years, and I have NEVER heard a fellow player refer to himself as "an OLB". Smooth move, I.M. Handsome Dan.

Also, "and etc."? Are you serious? etc. is shorthand for et cetera. The word "et" in Latin means "and." You wrote and and cetera. Good luck on your amazing essay!

The stereotype comment was far too ridiculous to be true. You just told some guy who has provided exactly the same amount of proof of his claims as you have (namely, he posted a paragraph on the internet), and you tell him not to stereotype you whilst simultaneously doubting and stereotyping him. I'm actually marveling at the amount of ignorance you managed to pack into 2 sentences.

What arrogant 17 year old would work 40 hours a week to support his family?
The same 17 year old that can't stop saying "LOOK AT ME!!!! I WORK 40 HOURS A WEEK!!! I'M SO SPECIAL EVERYBODY LOVE ME LOVE ME PLEASE!!!"

I chance you not getting into any top schools. I chance you this way because you have the completely wrong outlook on college admissions, on social etiquette, and on learning. Don't try and pretend like "you were just defending yourself"; we know that. That isn't an excuse to act like an arrogant brat. If you can't take simple advice on the internet, how are you going to handle someone challenging your ideas in college? How are you going to handle it when somebody says something that makes you look stupid (and they will)? Are you going to try your hardest, as you did here, to degrade and spite the speaker? Like it or not, how you behaved in this thread is indicative of the kind of person you are. The kind of person you are is not the kind of person schools look for; you are the "stat-perfect" kid that gets rejected every year and wonders why. We're telling you why, you're just refusing to listen.

Academics are mediocre, extracurriculars decent, personal qualities atrocious.

I.M.Handsome i think you have established a reputation amazingly at par with xiggi...

except people like xiggi...

lol your GPA and SAT scores are really really bad. no offense. Even with amazing ECs you probably will find that MIT and Penn and even maybe Cornell are reaches->high reaches. Sorry. GPA and SAT>ECs everyone knows that

Well, I glanced at your stats, skipped everyone's comments and happened to chance upon the general sentiment in this thread: you are perhaps egotistic, overweening and arrogant?

Presentation is key so the reason why it appears you are getting largely unfavorable responses is because of your attitude. Nothing new, I'm just recapping.

That said, your ACT score isn't bad- it's actually quite good and puts you in the running. However, we can not really judge the true potential of your stats without your unweighted GPA. You have standard activities that are heightened by the presence of national/high achieving awards, so kudos to you.

I would suggest if you want a more genuine reading reflective of your sats, to lose the attitude because then people will just rally against you. Human nature- we have to put down and sneer at any intimation of arrogance.

Overall, I would say you are in good shape for Cornell ED and you have a very good shot. Just make sure your essays and other components of your application are well presented- rhetoric is key!

I would say you're in bad shape for Cornell ED.

Honestly, only Mock trial and the Freshman Class President Leadership positions seem like serious positions to me. Environmental Club, Leo Club, and most of the others seem like clubs where you really don't do much. Considering that you work and do research, most people will assume that those clubs are little clubs and don't matter. You have some decent activities in FBLA and Research.. However, Your GPA also really isn't that good.. Also, many colleges have a special app that doesn't allow you to list all these clubs, and they also do not recommend attaching a resume. if you think colleges view clubs/activities more than grades, you are very very wrong.

Secondly, even with your "amazing" EC's, colleges also care alot about character, and personality, and who you are. That can't be shown in EC's very well, and is based on your essays and recs.

ornell (ED) - extremely high reach
Emory - extremely high reach
UVA - extremely high reach
MIT - no
Penn - extremely high reach
Indiana - extremely high reach

I'll add two:
DeVry - reach
your local community college - sure!
McDonalds - match!

I'm pretty sure colleges don't like pathological liars.

That pretty much made my day. IM Handsome you might want to change your name to IM SociallyChallenged

Also, colleges will hate the fact that you spent your time dealing with 8 different clubs while your grades and sat scores suffered. They'll find your job admirable but they will figure you to have your priorities out of order if you'd rather be president of 8 clubs with bad GPA/tests than maybe a president of one or two clubs and better GPA/tests.

To those who won't shut up about my sat score "suffering," i didn't even take the SAT yet so I do not know what you mean when you say my SAT score suffered when the PSAT score is the score I recieved on sophomore year, and I got a 34 on the ACT, which is equivalent to a 2220 on the SAT.
