A Lack of Majors

I have narrowed down my college choices to BC and McGill. Although BC seems ideal, there is one thing that is holding my decision back- the lack of majors. I am very interested in East Asian studies and Boston College not carrying a major in that department is dissapointing. What majors could I take at BC that would complement a minor in East Asian studies? Thanks

^ Dude, not sure why you applied to a school that doesn’t offer the major you want, unless you have come to your love of East Asian studies only lately, but maybe look for something in poli sci or even economics and tie it to whatever EA stuff they may have. You could also look at what BU may have (just a 10 min trolley ride away) in terms of cross-registering for some EA courses there. I asssume from your msg that BC at least offers a minor in EA studies? (Too tired to go google it myself)…

Yes, I’ve only recently began thinking about seriously majoring in East Asian Studies. Does anyone know if there is a chance to do this with help from BU? Or any other ideas/comments?

I think it’s a serious possibility seeing as we don’t really have majors in cultural studies here (due to a lacking department and a dearth of racial diversity). However, if you do this (and I don’t know anybody that does), consider that you’d have to take into account travel time to get to and from BU - that might be a tad inconvenient depending on how your schedule shapes up.

Whoa guys, do some research:
