The college confidential college matchmaker is good and all but i want to ask some of you guys if you have any recommendations
I'm an all AP student, just recently been given the title of tri-M president, active member of key club all throughout high school as well as the drama club. Been a judge for our schools annual model congress. I'm in the honor society and art honor society. I've participated in the NYLC national youth leadership conference in Washington.

Weighted my average is a 97, unweighted its somewhere in the low 90's
SAT score is around 1650, hopefully i can raise once i take the October exam
SAT II biology 710 US, 680

Majoring: Science engineering, or something engineering double major in mathematics...if possible, and minoring in the arts, Fine arts, music, musical theater
I'd rather a school that's diverse, it doesn't make a difference to me whether its in a city or not, although a city might be more fun, more outside job opportunities i guess.
As for state wise i'm thinking New York, Boston new jersey, the north east mostly but it doesn't really matter and preferably coed.

I had a teacher that was always trying to push Oberlin college on me, its a fine school and i would have no problem going there but its a liberal arts which scares me a little, cause i don't know how many jobs you can get with a liberal arts program, but what is interesting is their engineering program 3 years at oberlin and 2 years finishing off somewhere else, but i dont know if i want to do that. unless it would up my chances for entering into a big name university like say NYU. would that be a good idea? i dont know if i want that thouugh, i'd rather go somewhere where i can get the education i need and get out without all the hassle of applying again. i really want to go to NYU because of its location but my sat score puts a halt on that.

Top liberal arts schools do pretty well at placing their students either in graduate schools or jobs so if they seem right in other ways, they might not be a bad choice. Your SAT II’s seem much better than SAT I’s. Some schools (Middlebury for example) take 3 SAT II’s in lieu of SAT I which could be helpful. Bates too (which technically is SAT optional). Some Pennsylvania liberal arts schools have engineering ----Lafayette, Lehigh, maybe Bucknell. Smith has engineering if you’re female. The Pennsylvania schools are a bit more conservative than places like Oberlin and northeastern LACs like Skidmore. With NUY you have to think if you care about a traditional campus because it doesn’t have one!

Are a member of an ethnic group? if so, which one. Many schools have diversity, but may not have many members of one or two ethnic groups…so it helps to know if you are a member of one.

What is your budget? How much will your parents pay.

As you probably know, your current SAT score will likely prevent you from being accepted to most of the schools that give great financial aid. So, if you need and qualify for need-based aid, your choices will be more limited. As you probably know, NYU gives horrible aid.

However, if your parents will pay $50k per year for wherever you go, you will have more choices.

Very few students end up actually following through on 3/2 engineering programs. It forces them to leave their friends after three years and costs an additional year of tuition, room and board.

Double majoring in engineering ** and ** mathematics and still add a minor in fine arts or music/musical theater doesn’t look doable to me.

Anyway, you could look at Carnegie Mellon, which is a top university both for engineering and fine arts. Double majoring in arts and engineering is probably impossible, but I believe you can major in engineering and [minor in music](http://www.music.cmu.edu/programs.php) for example.
