My two teacher recommendations should be ok as well.
Hello there,
your transcript is already quite impressive, good for you. From your preconceived list, it seems that you prefer to stay in new york. Is this true? If it isn’t, with your gpa, and test scores, you would be quite competitive at these schools if you don’t mind me suggesting:
Wesleyan University (CT)
Georgetown University (DC)
Boston College (MA)
These are just a few, it really depends on the kind of school you prefer, financial aid situation, and your interests. You can pm me if you would like more info.
Thank you for your suggestions; I actually wouldn’t mind leaving NY but am having trouble finding schools I like that are also affordable. I would most likely not qualify for financial aid, but am looking for schools with merit-based aid (Fordham?). On a separate note, I feel like I need more “match” (3.5-3.6 gpa) schools. Do you know of any that would be a good fit? For safety schools I would probably apply to SUNY Albany or SUNY Cortland.
SUNY Binghampton would be a great choice!
SUNY Binghamton is great; I just visited this fall. A great education for a good price. But it’s so difficult to get in now!! ^^
Your credentials are considerably higher than the actual average for Binghamton. Many students have SATs in the 500 range. Naturally there are stronger students there too. It would probably be a safety for you if they felt you really wanted to be there.
Look at Tulane. They sometimes offer good merit aid for high stats. (Above 2100)
Actually I’ve seen people with 2000s and even as low as 1900s get some merit aid. You should definitely check the school out if your willing to go that far. A lot of kids from New York go there so it won’t be too much of a culture shock other then the weather.
Thanks, I’ll look at Tulane.
@theatrenglishss St. Lawrence and Providence College both have merit up to a free ride. Don’t make assumptions on need based money because you may not get any at SUNY Binghamton but you may at lets say Hamilton College or Colgate.
Just got my AP scores back: do I send them to all the schools I’m applying to? Sorry if that’s a silly question, I honestly don’t know. Anyways… 5 on APUSH, AP Lang, and AP Human Geo
May I suggest:
Northeastern University
Boston University
Boston College
University Of California, LA
You definitely have a solid competition base and will get into great schools.
