A little Letter of Recommendation problem

My journalism teacher wrote me a great letter of rec. However, he addresses it directly to Stanford, and I never realised the obvious problem that would arise if I wanted to use that letter for other universities, which I do.

He does live near me, and knows me quite well from the times we've worked after school together, so it's possible we can simply meet up and try to remedy this problem.

What I want to know is this: is it possible for me to send the original letter to Stanford, then have him change the letter up into a more general one (basically, omitting all mentions pertaining specifically to Stanford), and send that one to other schools? Does the commonapp system allow for him to do this?

your teacher has to fill out a seperate recommendation form for each college. commonapp doesnt send the same recommendation to all the colleges on your list. So, it wouldnt be a problem sendint the same recommendation and omitting the info...

hope that helps..

no, once a teacher you've invited submits online you can't delete them. and each time you use them again as a teacher rec. it'll automatically do it.
commonapp. should've informed us!
i added my ap bio. teacher as one of my teacherss and he did the same thing, he addressed it to a specific school. and now it says upenn when i sent it to duke.
so i guess all i can do is call duke and tell em' the deal
