A Low SAT Score. Help???

High school senior here. I took the May 7th SAT, and I felt pretty confident. Except my score was terrible.

Total Score: 1150

Reading and Writing: 620

Math: 530

I don’t want to make excuses, but math is something I always struggle with. I am taking college algebra this year, which at my school, is considered “too easy”. I’ve always liked English, and my AP Lang teachers always gave me outstanding scores on tests and essays. I was shocked when I realized I only got a 620 for Reading and Writing.

Am I screwed?? Is it even possible to boost my score on the Oct.1 SAT?? Should I kiss college goodbye?

It’s definitely possible. Start studying math like crazy. If you really push for it, 700+ is not at all out of the question for M. I suspect you also still have grammar gaps; if you really know your grammar, 700~ is quite doable in R/W even if you’re not a great reader. Good luck, @pastelish !
