"A Message from the Multicultural Recruitment Committee"

i got a likely letter a few weeks ago, and then i got this email a few days ago...

Dear blablabla,

As members of Columbia's Multicultural Recruitment Committee, we would like to offer some insight on the Columbia experience. We found Columbia to be the right school for us and hope it might be the right place for you.

....blablabla

did everyone else who got a ll get this? or did i just get it coz i'm a urm (hispanic) lol?

also - just wanted to double check : a likely letter pretty much means acceptance right? because it made me really relieved and way less stressed about the 29th, but i'm gettin a bit paranoid now the date is nearing that i'm actually gonna get rejected and they got me all excited for nothing.

also: i too got the email that said admissions decisions will be posted online...

I got this same email and I’m Asian, so definitely not just URMs. Probably all non-caucasian applicants?

I got a likely and didn’t get the email. Hispanic, Btw.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

I got a likely in the first round and received that email on Feb 24. I’m Indian, so not really URM. And from what I’ve seen, LL’s guarantee acceptance-- I haven’t heard any substantiated counterexamples.
