Hi,
I applied to CC regular decision and I'm anxious about my chances!
SAT I: 2300
SAT II: two 770's
Rank: 4/500
straight A's, lots of APs (three "5"s and two "4"s so far)
choir, church volunteering, no sports

Thanks!

Also:
I’m female, white, founded a JSA chapter for 2 years, debate team 3 years, build houses in Mexico over spring break.
Do I have enough non-academic stuff to get in? I’m worried. I didn’t get a “likely” letter.

Relax. You’re in the hunt. Without being a part of the admissions committee or seeing your whole application (including essays and recommendations), no one can say more than that. Good luck!

Thanks. Yeah, I should probably just chill out about it. But…easier said than done!

Very solid. You have as good a ahot as anybody. Essays and recs will be the teller.

I know how you feel. I haven’t heard anything yet, and everyone’s been posting about their likely letters. I’m freaking out about it. I just wish we found out earlier, instead of having to wait so long.

hopeful1234 and sdean0401-
I know how you feel. I read about the likely letters a few days ago and I also started getting really anxious (that’s why I try to avoid this site like the plague, but sometimes I’m just too curious…). Then, I found this link and it cleared everything up: [What are “Likely Letters” Like? - Ask The Dean](http://www.collegeconfidential.com/dean/archives/what-are-likely-letters-like.htm)

The last line of the article is key: “most candidates whom admission officials like are, nonetheless, UNlikely to get them.” So don’t get an ulcer over something that doesn’t mean anything to the people who don’t receive them. I know it can be intimidating with all the people posting about their letters; when you think about it though, there are only 4 or 5 people who claim to have received one and while that number might look a lot bigger in a pool of the 30-40 people who post on the Columbia thread, just know that the majority of students who are accepted DO NOT receive a “likely letter.” Congratulations to those of you who did though! We’ll just have to hang tight for another 12 days. Easier said than done, right?
Anyway, GOOD LUCK!! I hope we can all meet each other next fall as members of the Columbia University CLASS OF 2013!!!

@ shwhitin : that’s a very very useful link…clears up all the airs for people who have any lingering doubts…

That link is great! Thanks - it’s reassuring…
