<p>Hey, so today i went to tech, and they totally made me think of what my stats would be from their info session. Tech is my new number 1, i applied or the president's scholarship, but i doubt i get it. anyways, please chance, i really want to go there now. like i'll do anything. and if you could chance for OXFORD of Emory and Emory that'd be ducky too. </p>

<p>Location: CA (I heard this helps me A LOT. nobody has ever applied to GT from my school; surprisingly)</p>

<p>ACT: English- 32 Math- 28 but retaking in October </p>

<p>Georgia Tech GPA: 3.49
Emory, and Oxford of Emory: 3.28
ECs listed on app: football, track, was in 3 clubs, and worked</p>

<p>Job/Work Experience: did finances that were really receipts at a family friend's company and also had a job there too</p>

<p>Essays (subject and responses): already started so they should be very good- on two hardships that have come down on me the last 2 years, and my dealing w/ them.</p>

<p>Teacher Recs: better than great</p>

<p>Counselor Rec: great</p>

<p>School Type: Private, does not rank</p>

<p>Ethnicity: Hispanic (this helps me a little i heard, but idk)</p>

<p>Gender:M</p>

<p>Also: Took 3 summer courses at a local comm. college </p>

<p>I cant really speak to the difficulty of your schedule, but you look fine for GA tech. Idk if being in CA helps, I guess it will since it is so far. I have the hispanic advantage too lol. <p>oh yeah i forgot. my class difficulty got a 3 out of 4 using our school rankings. so they were pretty advanced/tough/pain in the ...</p>

<p>Right now I would say you have a solid chance. If you can bring up that math portion of the ACT to 30, I think you're in.</p>

<p>I do not know a ton about GA Tech admissions, but from the little I do know, I would say you'll make it in :-D</p>

<p>God i really hope you guys are right about GT. emory wouldn't be too shabby either.</p>

<p>i have a question too for anyone who knows a bit about GT admissions. I talked to the admissions officer yesterday, and I'm still confused about the community college courses that they look at. Do they just add that in there like an extra honors thing (.5) or do they add in the grade in the class and then the .5?</p>

<p>about the california thing: they admitted 60% of the 138 they got last year (for tech that is). </p>

<p>btw do i have a shot at beign a semifinalist for the president's scholarship? and if i applied for it but don't get it, can i still get into the school?</p>

<p>btw speaking of tech, what do they do with the ACT composite? is it just used for the general statistics? since they only look at the English and Math</p>

<p>Probably In. I mean you're URM with great test score= Golden. GT probably cares less about EC's, as long as you prove to be decent (which you did) in math/science.</p>

<p>Oops, I overlooked the GPA. Do you have good reasons for them? If so, you should definitely try to tell about it, because your GPA does not match your ACT score.</p>
