i do, hopefully it explains it. will the EC's and unique exp. help me get PS semifinalist?

I go to Georgia Tech and I was born in California. I moved to Georgia during high school though. Georgia Tech sucks if you don't want to do engineering. You'll get in, but if you get into Emory or some pretty good UC school go there instead.

Heed my warning: CALI is so much better than GEORGIA. Period. This state sucks and there aren't any girls at this school. I came in majoring in industrial engineering and I switched to management. Please don't come here unless you're 100% sure you want to major in some sort of engineering.

Please. Even though I have a lot of friends and my family lives in Georgia now, this place sucks. The food sucks, the campus life sucks if you're a guy and there isn't much to do except get wasted with a bunch of guys for fun.

Don't come to this ****ty school unless you want to have a miserable 4 years. Thanks :)

Oh I didn't see that you're hispanic. You'll get into Emory as well. Cool beans. I have no idea why you don't want to go to school in California, go to UCLA or USC. Your stats are decent but the fact that you're hispanic will get you in. I hope you're applying to UC schools as well. If I was in your situation I would avoid Georgia Tech at all costs.

Being hispanic definitely helps and I can see how being from CA helps. I'm a little worried about your extracurriculars, but not too worried. Your biggest concern might be your grades and the strength of your curriculum, which I don't know too much about. Still, your ACT score is solid, so I'd peg you at a 60-65% chance for GT.

curric. is pretty tough.

somewhat in.

..owned...

so it's a match then

I'm not really familliar with the Georgia Tech thing, but you seem pretty much set. Good luck. :)

my college counselor said today "i really think you're going to get Georgia Tech".

soo...what's my shot at the President's Scholarship? semi finalist that is, if i actually get it i'll be shocked. my essay made my teacher tear up a little.

holy crap, i didn't put up my babysitting/tutoring job either. damn, ok well ya add that in there for work/job exp. for the PS stuff. i'm hoping and praying for the semi finalist thing. (seriously though, i am) oh and i was in three clubs as i mentioned in my app too and did a bunch of work in them, and community service too which i may have forgotten to add in there.

I'd do anything for a PS semifinalist spot

bump for the PS

yeah crap now that i think of it i have to call them...

you look like a match. your gpa could use a little boost, especially for emory, but its probably too late for that, huh?

please chance me back:

bump. i'd like to get more responses for Oxford of Emory, Emory, and GT pleasee and hopefully i'll be able to update the ACT with even better scores soon

Get the ACT Math score at least above a 29, if not above a 30. Your GPA is low for Tech's standards, but other than that you sound like you have a pretty good chance.

you look like you're in pretty good shape for tech. my dad graduated from tech and he gave me a list of things that tech usually looks at for admissions:
~decent SAT scores in which they usually focus in more at your math score the most
~the academic record/GPA is very important!! in fact, the admissions director told me this when i asked
~residency is considered but they select kids, especially those of a minority, from out of state as well
~the rigor of curriculum is important! basically, don't have taken or take all regular classes. they like to see you challenge yourself.
~leadership, talent, and ability is highly considered, which you have, so i think you're fine.

so, have you got your letter back yet for PS?

well ekb, i called them today to get something straightened out for my transcript, and the director told me that they just today started reviewing my app. so i can only hope and pray now

I think your chances at GT are pretty solid.
