A Note on Test Scores

I am a current freshman at Pomona. When I got in last year I applied ED2, was deferred to RD, and then was accepted.

I thought I had no chance at getting in because I got a 27 on the ACT and a 1310 on the SAT. I looked through every page on Pomona’s thread and assumed there was no way I could get in because my test scores were so low in comparison to many applicants who had been accepted in the past.

My message for applicants who are waiting for a response or who plan to apply in the future: you are not doomed if you don’t have perfect stats! Test scores are just one aspect of your application and will not necessarily make or break your chances of getting in.

@after46before48 Thanks for your input.
Can you tell me about your experience in Pomona?

Did you send any supplemental material (music, art, theater) or Letter of Continued Interest (LOCI)? If you send the LOCI, how did you write it?

@after46before48 What did you do after you got deferred to increase your odds of admission?
