a.p. score report?

hey, guys; i've been a lurker for a while, but this is my first official post. :)

anyway, i'm a junior this year, in the midst of a.p. exams (O.O), and i might apply to yale next year. i'm just curious: when you guys applied to yale, did you have to send in an a.p. score report, or does collegeboard automatically do that when you send in an s.a.t. report? any responses should be appreciated. :)

I sent in my AP score report last year. If you don't, you'll have to send it for a fee later, I believe. It isn't on the SAT score report.

I'm not sure if they send it or not, but it doesn't matter: you can just report your scores yourself on the application.

I'm just curious as to how much AP exams factor in to the admissions process. I know that the entire game is oftentimes really, really strange, and that AP exams can't possibly be the only thing that the admissions officers are looking for, but a part of me sometimes just wonders. Obviously, there are going to be kids in the US who do really well in their classes throughout the year and then bomb the exam, and likewise. A friend of mine who is a junior at Wash U. right now told me that admissions is more interested in how you did in classes versus how you did on the exam (and I'm not sure if I believe her or not =P). I'm wondering if anyone can verify or disprove that?

Colleges will only look at you in context. They won't compare you to everyone else around the nation; and besides, not every applicant's school offers AP courses. I personally don't think AP scores have that much to do with your final decision - I, for example, had only taken one test when I applied (my school only offers five APs, most for seniors).

Why pay money to send AP scores now when you can report them for free on the application? Just worry (or not really) about sending AP scores when your college decision is final.
