When transferring, do colleges not like to see a pattern of different schools? I transferred three times and I haven't stayed at one school for one full year. I feel like this will effect my admissions decision. Should I pick a school, stay there for one full year, get my grades up and then transfer?

They don’t like that, they also like students to know the difference between then and than.

Why are you transferring so much? Also, effect/affect.

After graduating high school, I went to a college in Conn. that I did not like for many different reasons. I ended up coming home and attending a local college for a semester and did poorly academically (also dealt with a medical condition) however I am not counting those grades. Then, I applied to U Miami but only got accepted for the Spring semester due to housing. So I went to St. John’s University in the Fall and then U Miami in the Spring. U Miami ended up being to far from home so I came home mid- semester and took the semester off. I now am going to a different local school. I am looking to transfer one last time so I would get my grades up this year while I am home.

No, you go to a school to GRADUATE, not for the preparation of another transfer.

Just FYI, you don’t have the option of not counting certain grades or certain schools.

Well if I am not happy then why would I stay? Life’s to short to be unhappy.

Life is too short to be unhappy, but if after 3 different schools, it’s likely that no college will make you happy. So why not just focus on graduating, then you can move past this part of your life? I’m a big believer in living a happy life, but sometimes in life, you just have to suck it up, and tough it out.

There are personal reasons as to why two of the schools didn’t make me happy.
