A Plan

I was wondering if this plan would be good for me or even for any other prospective student.

First instead of join into a state school such as UVA or UMaryland. While you are in that school get your B.S. degree. Then switch to another higher level school such as Yale and get your M.D. degree because that's what mainly people will look at.

I think that's a good plan so can anyone tell me it's bad points. This plan is mainly for students who are smart, but didnt' get into top level schools such as Princeton. Also will you still get financial aid if you go to an ivy league school late? Will you still be able to get scholarships etc.

Um the med school you graduate from really doesnt matter. Its not like normal undergrad where people care where you go. Med school is med school no matter where you go. That is of course if you want to practice medicine. Now if you want to do research and hold high positions in hospitals and in healthcare then it is good to go to an ivy med school. But most med schools in the country give very very little financial aid no matter how good you are, or where you go.

If I wanted to be a cardiologist or a surgeon then would it matter the school that I went to? Thanks for Replying

Not really. Your residency would matter for cardiology and for surgery all that matters are your board scores to get into the surgery residency. For cardiology all that matters is how well you did in your IM residency and your recommendations, and scores from the boards also.
