<p>I'm just a little puzzled by the person who thinks Indians are such rare international students and are part of an underrepresented ethnic groups. </p>
<p>In 2002-03, there were more international students from India that from any other country on the globe.</p>
<p>As for race/ethnicity, students from India (or of Indian descent) are generally considered Asians. Of course, most colleges do not count international students in their race/ethnicity reporting, so it neither hurts nor helps the raw numbers. </p>
<p>It's true, however, that some schools don't generally attract a lot of international students and will pay scholarship dollars to attract them.</p>
