A Questin about AP Lang (or AP in general i guess)

<p>So here's the deal.</p>

<p>I'm in 10th grade right now and my GPA was 3.9, and I am in 2 honors courses with block scheduling, and have one more next semester (3/4 core subjects are honors). I am very proud of that since i had a lot of problems last year and it was only 3.4. Anyhow, I have honors english and honors social studies, and in english I had an A- and in social studies I had a solid A. </p>

<p>Now, I want to take at least one AP course next year, but is an A- not good enough? Like, I want the challenge, but in our school you have to really shine in your courses to get reccommended, you can't just ask to take really hard classes. I was mainly thinking about lang and comp since i would enjoy taking writing analysis and such to the next level. </p>

<p>So i guess my question is, in general, what grades should you have in the course prior to the AP course to take it? </p>

<p>What grades did you guys have in the honors class you took before it, and how did it compare to the AP course?</p>

<p>I got an A in Honors english the year before I took AP Lang.
I think your grades are definitely solid enough to take at least one AP course next year. </p>

<p>@rumorsareflying‌ oh. Would you say it is mainly weiting papers because i keep getting B’s on them and thats what is keeping me from getting the A, i do good on like everything else pretty much</p>

<p>AP Lang is a very writing intensive class.</p>
