A question about prerequisite mathematics for college.

Im a junior now, and I intend to apply to University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, but it states the mathematics required is, "3.5 years of mathematics, including trigonometry or higher are required."

The problem is, I absolutely can not get pre-calculus, meaning I failed the class in the first two weeks. I believe math is not my forte, because I got A's in all of my other classes including my AP one. I am taking an AMDM math course now and im doing insanely better. Senior year I intend to take AP statisics instead of precal, but im not entirely sure if that class will fill the math requirment I stated above. Does anyone know if it will/will not? I will take Pre-cal if I am absolutely forced too.

Including trig means you would have to take a Trig or precalc class. How hard do they push their requirements though? For instance, the college I’m going to requires 4 years of English, and I only took 3, they didn’t even question it.
