A question concerning the SATs

I just took the SATs earlier this June and got a 640 on the Critical Reading. This is high for me since I am the "800-on-Math" kind of guy. So I was wondering if when I take them again (primarily to improve a meek 620 writing score), I get lower on the Critical Reading, would colleges take it piece by piece to add them up from different test dates?

In other words, if I get higher on the writing in the upcoming November test date but lower on the Critical Reading, do colleges take the CR score from this June and add it to the Writing score from the November test I took?

Thanx all help is appreciated..

bump. Again all help is appreciated

They get your superscore by adding the highest in each section. Like if you got an 800 M, 690 V, 630 W on your first sitting and got a 760 M, 700 V, 700 W, your superscore would be 800 M, 700 V, 700 W because those are your best scores.

thx.. thats awesome!
