A question for loyal duke fans/ applicants!

If you are placed on the waitlist on March 31st, would still hope for Duke to perform well in the NCAA Tournament?

From what I have heard, an early loss in the tournament can decrease a college's yield. You can also comment on the validity of the previous statement if you wish.

So, is "getting into" your dream school more important than how well your favorite bball team performs? If so, to what extent? Would you actually start to hope for a poor tournament performance?

I just hope I do not end up on the waitlist :(, than I will be faced with the above dilemma.

If you really like duke you will cheer for it no matter what

um.. no, theres still the issue of getting in, otherwise it's best to move on and cheer for your actual school

@reap, but what if its your dream college?

Hopefully I'll get in, because I have Duke going pretty deep into the tournament...

EDIT: And that statement is absolutely true; March Madness has a big effect on decisions.

Just look at Georgetown. It exploded after Patrick Ewing came by.

ill get on the waitlist no matter what...that is assuming I get waitlisted!
