My dad passed away yesterday...and I put that he was in critical condition for the application, but is it necessary to explain that he's deceased? I'm not asking because I think it would increase my chances, but am asking because it would validate my application...

I know it's too late now, but how would I even contact everyone?

nicksyn, I’m sorry for your loss. Will his passing affect your EFC for subsequent years, or was it zero already? Even if your EFC will not change, I would send a simple email to each school you ranked stating that your father passed away and your family income will be changing.

Sorry, just noticed you wanted to know how to contact people. For small schools, you can call admissions and ask for the email of the person who handles QB, or for the larger schools you could just email admissions. Make sure you include your full name, ID# if you have one, DOB, and SS#. Explain your fathers passing and ask that the information be added to your QB file.
