A thread for the EA people to read

By reading last year's thread, I inferred that they all expected the decisions to be online on the 16th, but were surprised when they could access the site on the 15th...that could be wrong though.

I believe someone from this year got a postcard confirmation that said scores would be online the morning of the 16th.

The morning? Oh dear. There is going to be a serious traffic jam in my calc class on the way to the computer.

I believe it was 9 AM Eastern time. Which means 7 AM here in Wyoming, so I'll know before I go to school (haha, if I go to school that day).

i think ill just skip school that whole week, ill be 18 on monday so i can write my own excuse notes!! score!! and ill go to work with my mommy so that she will be there when i check.
maybe.
prolly not, im too much of a dork to skip school. maybe just that one day

go class of 05 man, we can beat those 04 fools!!!.............its really depressing looking at that site though....its sorta like looking into the future....except in the past. No matter, let's do it 05......holy crap, i see some dude with 1600, 4.0, 760, 740, 730 got deferred last year. Please god (aka vanilla ice), let me do better!

"deferred.

hispanic girl with a 1590, 800/790/770/770 SaT IIs, 3.98 unweighted, gov school, caltech research, officer of 4 clubs and mad commuunity service.

lame. "

ahh! hopefully this person was like an ax murderer or something.....jesus

its not all about scores!! remember essays, character, recs, personality in essays, luck, activities, dedication, ITS NOT ALL ABOUT SCORES, YOU CANNOT JUDGE BY SCORES ALONE

I'm confused. G-d is vanilla ice? The poster or the rapper?

Indeed it's not all about scores. But that hispanic girl had great EC - or at least it seems great to me. Maybe that's my problem. My "great" isn't really good enough for Yale.

deferred=hell. ahhhh I'm going to hell! Haha I'm a loser. And yeah, what's w/ vanilla ice?

it's not only about scores, guys. get past them. :)

ho ho...sorry all. in singapore, we all tend do speak in shortened english. i know, it has polluted my way of writing. even the teachers write like that you know. sigh...shall try to type proper english. oh i used to live in the us, seattle. anyone from around there?
gosh i'm only gone for one day and what's this??!! all these new posts... people, i'm getting old and can't keep up that quickly anymore.

huh???!!! only one day and i've become a GOD????
my my my i really am getting too slow for all you youngsters...heehee
god what rubbish am i talking about.

Does anyone know if there is a link to the RD results to see how well the deferred EA applicants fared in the end? That might be interesting...

hey vanilla i thought yale was need blind to internationals?

if not then im so screwed... whats the average aid from Yale anyway? (ill be needing around 30000~)

actually it is. i forgot. hehe...sorry. but then you'll still have to be really outstanding to get a scholarship from yale. don't worry we're in the same boat. i'll also be needing a lot of financial aid.
