Ok first off i have a 3.43 with 54 units done. I have my A.A. and my IGETC done and am going to have my 60 units by the end of the fall semester because I am taking 12 units. My probelm lies with my GPA and my progress in two of my classes. I currently have an A in both classes but feel that as the class progresses it is getting tough and my grade could slip to a b in both classes. I am doing pretty well in one of the classes but my grade in the other class is dropping and could be a b or a c. to make a complex explanation easy i am expecting two b's from these classes at the end of the semester. I am keeping an option open to drop the one i am having dificulty in for a w and keeping the class im doing well in to get an A or a B at semesters end. This will help my gpa by bringing it to a 3.5 or 3.51 depending on the grade i get. then from a 3.43 or worse i would get if i got two b's or worse in the classes. I understand that uc's dont place emphasis on W's too much. btw: these two classes are history courses and taken with the same teacher. My major is history and even if i drop i will still have the major rec done for all my schools except like 1 o2. please express your thoughts on if i should drop or not.

I think you should work hard and achieve "A"s in both classes. Ws aren't that big of a deal, but I don't think they look good as far as trends are concerned. They want to see you progressively getting better. If you have a good reason for the W(s) though and put it in your personal statement, then you'd probably be fine.

I have no W's on my record thus far. So if you mean a trend concerning w's i dont have one. Anyways if i do take the w i will still have a 4.0 or 3.7 for the semester depending on how i do in that one course. I have 2 A's pretty much locked up in my other two classes and am looking at a b maybe an A in that one history course. Thanks for your reply.
