A Valentine's restaurant in Charlottesville?

I'm sort of blanking on good, not too expensive places to go for a romantic dinner for 2 in the area to suggest to my boyfriend who goes to another school. Suggestions??

The White Spot

I just wrote out a post with links and lost it. Here’s a quick run down…

Check websites, these might be too expensive:
[The Ivy Inn](http://www.ivyinnrestaurant.com/)
[C&O
Duner’s[/url">http://www.dunersrestaurant.com/]Duner’s[/url</a>]</p>

Exotic, not expensive:

[Al Hamraa/url

In town, close to Grounds:
L’Etoile[/url">http://letoilecville.blogspot.com/]L’Etoile[/url</a>]
Maya (they have a special, discounted menu on Tuesdays)
Zinc
Orzo (in the West Main Market](http://www.alhamraa.net/))

[Yelp Charlottesville](http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=&ns=1&find_loc=Charlottesville%2C+VA#cflt=restaurants) and [Cville Dining](<a href=“charlottesville-dining.com - This website is for sale! - charlottesville dining Resources and Information.”>http://www.charlottesville-dining.com/) are good places to research.

I like Michael’s Bistro on the Corner.

C&O is always a safe bet. Fleurie has a nice wine list.

I like Fleurie too, but had one really bad experience there last year, in that there seemed to be some sort of European passive aggressiveness and our service was ridiculously slow, and with a bite of sarcasm. We actually had to involve management in order to get our meals and service rectified. I’d go back, but I won’t tolerate slack service particularly at a restaurant like this. Our tip reflected the service we received, humph.

Also, restaurant week is this week, if you wanted to try something out before going on actual Vday.

[Charlottesville Restaurant Week -](http://cvilleyum.com/)

It’s the same idea as other city restaurant weeks. You can eat at participating restaurants for a discounted price. Usually includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. $26 per person this year, which is a great price for some of the restaurants on the list.

Regarding Himalayan Fusion: Both times I went, the food was not worth it, IMO. Fossett’s over at Keswick is really good, and would be great for a Valentine’s Day dinner. Price range is more like C&O.

I’m a buffet person – C’ville has tons of them for cheap prices – but I’m not sure if they’re romantic enough.

omg Al Hamraa I haven’t seen that one

it looks cool.

too bad there’s no buffet option!

Sushi Love just opened on the corner. They have sushi and regular stuff. You can easily eat for $15 a person, and it’s really cute and quiet.
There’s a bunch of cheaper places on the Downtown Mall, look into catching the Trolley. But be careful, hours can be limited
