A very odd transfer scenario...

Hello Everyone,

I've got a transfer question, and I was hoping that some of you might be able to dispense a little advice. My situation is certainly not the common scenario. I apologize in advance for the length... :)

From 1998-2002, I attended two local colleges (one of which was the nearby community college). I couldn't make up my mind between two majors, and I was taking classes for both (CIS and Music, and various gen.eds). From 2000 onwards, I was working in Boston, MA doing computer consulting work for long hours, and school was in Warwick, RI. It made for long drives and a difficult time, and I ended up leaving school in 2002, with no degree, but 152 credits (no, that is not a typo) across two majors.

Besides work, part of the problem was that I was in school because it was where I was 'supposed' to be, but not quite where I 'wanted' to be. Well, times have changed, and now I want to go back. I intend to finish the BS and go on to my MS at the same school.

The school I am looking to transfer to (Univ. of RI) requires that half of the credits for the degree are taken at URI. Additionally, there was only a minimal amount of overlap between the CIS program I was taking, and the Computer Science program I will be entering. So I will need to take the majority of the program classes from scratch. I will take three semesters at the local community college (for various Calculus, Physics, etc.) to get some of the gen. ed classes done with and boost my GPA (only a 3.1 overall, due do several class failures from non-attendance). Now that I am taking things seriously, I expect my two semesters of math/science to be straight 4.0s or damn close to it.

Considering my overall situation (like I said, a little unusual), should I expect any issues when I try to transfer (for Fall 2007)? I'd appreciate any and all input, but especially from those of you who may have also had an unusual pre-transfer past.

Thanks,
-Chris
