I recently took the A100 - Intro to accounting midterm, and I'm not feeling too good about it. I'm not a direct admit to Kelley so I still have to apply.
I have a few questions.

If I have to withdraw from A100 and retake it. How much will that affect my chances of getting into Kelley.

Would it be better to ride this 8 weeks out with a chance of getting a poor grade and then retake it next semester or should I withdraw then retake.

I know I-Core requires a C but somebody told be you have to get a B in every class to get admitted into Kelley. Is this true or is it just a B GPA overall?

Has anybody had to go the SPEA route and if so did that affect you in finding a job?

I know none of you are Kelley advisors but I'm just hoping to get some quick answers.

A withdraw would affect your chances of getting into Kelley a lot.

Professor Winston will probably say in the next class that Kelley Admissions will give you more credit for getting a C the first time in A100, than a W followed by an A when you retake it. So if you can get a C, you probably don’t want to withdraw. If you’re looking more at a possible D or F, then you probably want to take the W.

You have to get a B in every class to be guaranteed admission to Kelley. A B GPA doesn’t get you anything unless you have all B’s.

It was definitely a tough test (I just took it as well), but I agree with hkem that you shouldn’t take the W unless it looks like you might get a D or an F for the class. And yes you do have to have at least a B (no B- or lower) in every class to be guaranteed a spot in kelley, but getting below that in a class does not mean an automatic rejection.

While I agree with the previous posts, you also have to take into account that if you get a C on the midterm, you can’t do poorly on the final either. If you do, you must take the grade that results from it.
