Berkeley really sold my H (a Berkeley alum) on the idea of a UC's ability to help those who need it get through a Sci/Engineering major at their "Diversity Coalition" thing last weekend. I ( a UCLA alum) remembered reading about such resources at UCLA. Any anecdotal experiences? Like how hard is it to get into AAP? what about PEERS?

You're usuallly invited into AAP after you send in your SIR. AAP will shower you with information about FSP, PLUS, etc.

Otherwise, you can apply at any time during the academic school year.

You're automatically in AAP either through being an URM or coming from a poor background or something similar.

"Help those in need" - as opposed to what's provided at the privates [granted they have good aid]? I'm cynical and jaded about the experience to be quite frank. I get things done however and have taken advantage of what's here.

AAP tutoring FTW! I have never actually gone to one but I heard that they were amazing. And that it gives you an unfair advantage, hahaa.

FTW...is that for the world?... sorry...

That would be "for the win"

Thank you!
