AB Calc Free Response Booklet Malfunction!

So when I opened my AB Calc free response answer booklet, the inner pages all had a triangle ripped out of the top... If you can picture a rip from about halfway between the staples of each page to the center of the top portion, that's what my test booklet looked like: A giant "V" cut out of all the pages. The pages were flopping all over the place because there was only one staple holding them in, because there WASN'T any paper for the top staple! When I asked my proctor if I could just use a different answer booklet, they said there weren't any extras and that I would just have to use the one I was given...

So I finished all the free-response just fine, although some of my explanations and justifications were squished since there was about half the usual amount of space, but when I called collegeboard after all was said and done, the guy I talked to said I would probably have to take a partial exam at a later date! How much does that suck! I'm supposed to find out in a day or so after my AP coordinator speaks with collegeboard....

Has this happened to anyone else? It was like the machine that put together my booklet had some freak bizzare malfunction and ate some of my answer sheet. Do you think they'll actually make me retake part of the exam because of THEIR mistakes?

If CB concludes that the defect was significant enough to hinder your score then yes, they will give you a do-over. BUT, if the problems were still in tact, they probably won't help you because the rules state that you can attach your own paper with your AP number written on them.

You obviously got an unfair advantage, only doing 3/4 of the free response test. That's why you have to make up that last 1/4.

He said he did all the questions. And what's up with the space-spamming in your post?

Sarcasm...
