Hello,
I wanted to rent a book for the first time and it turns out I need a credit card for it. I am just wondering if they charge a registration fee or sth when I give my credit card information at the website. If I return the book by the final exam's date, they shouldn't bother to charge my credit card, right?

Book rental is a rip-off. If you buy it new on Amazon or some other well-priced venue, you can typically sell it after the semester for more than the rental would cost.

^ I second that.

Don’t bother renting books. You instantly lose the full amount you pay to rent a book. If you buy it, you can at least recover half of it or so by selling to other students.

I tried amazon and it isn’t any cheaper. Where else should I look for it?

Google Shopping will give you a list of what retailers have it for what price. It’s REALLY helpful

Protip: buying all your books used will cost approx. as much as renting one book.
