So they give you a pin and a password and a website, so obviously you log on to the website with those. But then what do you see? Is it right away just a letter, and if so, what are the first few words for acceptances? Or is it just like one word saying you are accepted or deffered or rejected?

My son is a current sophomore. I remember all too well the anxious waiting for the ED decision time to arrive. Try to relax. Once you log into the web site a letter appears. It started like this:

Dear xxx,

Congratulations on your acceptance into the College of Engineering at Cornell University! We are very pleased to be welcoming you to the Cornell Class of 2015.

Very soon, you will receive your official letter of acceptance from us in the mail.

In the meantime, we want you to know that we are excited at the prospect of your joining the Cornell community and know that you will make a very positive contribution to the university as a future Cornellian.

It is possible that it may take a bit of time to log in. Some years it is quick but some times it takes a bit longer. I wish you luck with your decision. I do want to remind all of you that you WILL end up at the college that is right for you. My son had many classmates that were rejected from their ED school. They went on to be accepted to many other great schools. They are all happy where they landed.

Good luck!

When I was accepted, there was a “Congratulations” banner across the top of the screen so it took a while before I got to reading the actual letter.

Wonder what it looks like if you get rejected :/

My D, a current sophomore went through the regular decision process but it was identical to 1234’s post.

And what does it say if you’re deffered? So if you’re accepted, will it have a letter and a banner?

My D is a soph., accepted ED…there was a scan of the letter she received via postal mail 2 daysd later, I would assume it is the same for a rejection or deferral.
