does anyone even know what the Cornell acceptance letter looks like?

so is it an envelope? a small packet? a small package full of big red goodies? or an actual bear with an envelope around its neck?

yessssss :D

when you apply and you refresh that page at 5 pm (assuming the website works)...you come to a webpage that says in big letters "CONGRATULATIONS!" and then some letter that you dont even read in the first couple of minutes because you are screaming your head off. the actual letter comes much much later (like in april or so). i dont remember exactly, but i think you get sent a small letter and a bigger package later

What does the "rejection web page" looks like? Just to prepare myself for difference scenarios.

it's an envelope

and then a package.

I thought it was days of postponing and then hours of refreshing and crashing the server until you give up and get your answer the next morning

so will a letter get to us on the 15th or is the website the quickest way to find out our fate and what time does the website disclose our decision?

no it will be on a website. december __ at 5 pm. i found out exactly at 5...the problems started to happen with the RDers checking their decisions

What does the rejection look like?

If you get deferred or rejected through ED, you may find a very very long statement apoligizing why they could not accept you (usually something about the largest apps ever)
But if you get accepted through rolling admission, you may get a letter in the mail that looks like a rejectance, but its just a trick. So dont lose hope if you get one :)

just wondering...but do EDers all get a letter in the mailbox on the 15th anyway? I would much rather find out that way... if it's online, I don't think I will ever have the guts to click on the link.

we had time troubles last year for ED. I think I got on somewhere around 8 PM.

and no, you aren't going to find out by envelope. you will find out online.

accepted EDers get their letter in april with everyone else.

if you apply to one of the rolling admissions colleges RD, you might get your acceptance letter in about late february/early march.

i got it and i was really surprised - i thought they needed something because they lost it.

You'll see a lame picture of four people smiling awkwardly and over them, "You're Accepted!" (or something like that) on the webpage. The image looked like it was created in about 3 minutes in Windows Paint.

Back in my day...it was just a gray box and a form rejection "we're sorry to inform you...blah blah blah...largest number of applicants in our history...blah blah blah"
