About financial aid

Hi,

I'm an international student and I'm just notified that I've got a WPI Presidiential Scholarship of $15000 each year. I also applied for financial aid, so will the financial aid notification come later or is this the final amout I can get? As they say on their website: families are expected to contribute at least $16.500 or something like that, will it be guaranteed that they will give me enough to cover the rest?

Thank you

First, congratulations on the Presidential Scholarship. Regarding additional financial aid, there are only few US schools that meet the demonstrated financial need of international students (Harvard, MIT, Princeton and Yale are among them). For the rest, they will provide aid as they see fit. If a student is outstanding and needs some help, WPI may offer some financial assistance beyond the Presidential Scholarship. You should inquire directly with the admissions office to confirm the answer to your question.

Internationals do not qualify for federal loan programs, which make up a big chunk of just about everyone’s fin. aid package.

Thank you for your answers. I contacted them and found out I was awarded another scholarship  I’m so happy now.
