About public transport AC and BART

Are there any discounts available for Berkeley students on both of them? I heard AC is free of charge and BART has no discount for students.

AC Transit (the bus system for those that don’t know) requires a $10 charge in order to get a sticker on your Cal ID that then allows you to just show the bus driver and not have to pay anything. And BART does not have any discount for students.

thanks for the great information, sllamas1.

$10 for the sticker? Where do you get that?

AC transit is free to Cal students with the Classpass sticker added to your Cal1 card.

[Class Pass for Students | UC Berkeley - Parking & Transportation](http://pt.berkeley.edu/pay/transit/classpass)

Just don’t lose your Cal1 Card, or you end up having to pay for a new classpass.

The bus pass is “free” in the sense that you already paid for it with your student fees.

The “Class Pass” is comes at a $68 fee that is already intertwined into your tuition fees. At first I thought I would never need/use it, but I must admit it was quite nice to have.

oh wait…it was $10 for RSF membership…damn $69.50 for the bus pass? that’s a lot! Sorry for the bad info…

But since you already pay for it regardless if you get the class pass or not, you might as well get it.

Even at $69.50, the bus pass is still a good deal.

Consider that a regular bus pass is $80/mo, and a transbay one is $120/mo. Your sticker is equivalent to a transbay bus pass. Consider that single rides usually cost $2.

Since the sticker is good for a semester, even if you take two rides a week, it’d have been worth it.

Not to mention, the sticker is what also gets you access to the Bear Transit buses that circle campus.

guys I’ll be an EAP student, so how much more would I need to pay? Fees are confusing to me.
