Ok...so we hadn't received confirmation that the app had been processed so I called and they told me (very polite) that they had all the necessary paperwork.

I didn't think to ask for a pin number. Do I need one now that i know they have my application? What exactly can I do with the number and how did you guys get one?

They should mail you your PIN, but they didn't in my case. I called the admissions office, explained my situation, they told me that my application was complete. I asked for my PIN and she told me what it was over the phone.
The PIN lets you check your status, and in late March you can find out their decision. They'll also mail their decision, so it's not really mandatory.

Thanks powderpuff. I guess I'll wait awhile and if I don't get a pin I will call and get one. I hate waiting around for snail mail. I just feel better knowing that they do have all my application.

novice07, when did you send in your application?
same situation here... sent everything before/by deadline (1/1) and haven't heard anything yet(except for the very first confirmation of "we got your common app which doesn't mean your application is complete"), not even the PIN... felt like it is too early to contact the admissions office, but should i go ahead and call them anyway? when i called before to ask questions about something, a man picked up and he wasn't too nice about things...

oh and i live in NYC and haven't been contacted for an interview, possibly because the home phone has a major problem...but then again, there was no emails either. problem you think? should i talk about that too and tell them to forget my house phone number but call my cell or something?

anyone? i am a bit nervous about things right now...what do you think i should do all you college-smart people? =D
thanks in advance to you all!

thanks kyo.
so i should probably hold on until the 1st to make a phone call. is that what you are suggesting ? =)

Hanyatyhan,

I sent my app in on Dec.29. I chose to call before the Feb. 1 deadline to beat the rush. The gentleman I spoke with was kind enough. But all he disclosed was that they had received all the necessary forms.

I'm in TN and haven't been contacted for an interview either.

I did follow some advice from this board about emailing for a PIN number - sent that in yesterday.

yeah... pin thingi never worked... they kept on saying "denied" so i never got to see it... i guess i will call today or tomorrow
