About switching between schools--Physics(Natural Science) & Mechanical Engineering(Engineering)

Hi! I’m a prospective undergraduate student who is trying to decide between two interests: Applied Physics & Mechanical Engineering. They are quite similar but one is in the School of Natural Science and the other one is in School of Engineering. I know I can fill in more than one interests in the application process, but how difficult is it to switch between these two schools in case I think the other one is better for me?
Thanks!

Not difficult at all. You can switch between schools freely. Architecture and music are the exception as those require portfolio and/or audition for admission. You can take classes in any school (except architecture and music which have limited offerings for non majors). You don’t have to declare a major until the end of your sophomore year. Many students take classes in several areas of interest before deciding which major to pursue. My daughter is double majoring in Psychology and English which are in 2 different schools, Social Sciences and Humanities.
