Hi, does anyone know the quality of W&M's business major compared to other schools like NYU-stern and Boston College?

As far as the business majors are concerned accounting is hands down the best, consistnetly ranking as one of the best in both the nation and world. The business school is still pretty young, opened in the middle of the 20th century; however, it will be experincing great development in the next four years, as they move toward relying more on private funds and reshift their education philosophy/focus. A 70 million, 170,000 square foot building is scheduled to be open in 2009 for the business school, and has received a number of donations recently in excess of 10-15,000,000

Does anyone know how difficult it is to get in? As I understand it, you cannot just declare a business major, you must apply for admission. Are oos students at a disadvantage there as well?

No there is no instate/outstate preference given for the business school, as you apply for junior year admission. There are requirements such as a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, and course requirements such as statistics, macro and mirco econ principles, calculus I and accounting
