Okay, I know the “Why Brown” essay is a very important one. I’m thinking about what to say in mine, but everything comes out as so cliche. I am really working on it, but I just want some info. I was just wondering if any of you accepted people had good/bad ones?

Make it as specific and relevant to you and your interests as possible. What do you want to study and why – and talk about specific programs, departments, classes, professors, activities, etc., at Brown. Do copious research on the website and ask specific questions here to get that info.

I see, it’s more a very personal approach?

I get it now!

My Why Brown? essay was pretty horrible and cliche but i still managed to get in. My other essays were really really good though so I guess they made up for it.

I’m looking at stuff on the website that appeals to me, going through their brochure thing (again, lol) and really trying to express myself with the uttermost passion and enthusiasm for learning. Sell yourself and think about all the reasons why you LOVE this school. Something should come to mind. :)
