About to start my junior year at UC Davis. My GPA is 3.44 which is not exceptional. My GPA after my freshman year was a 3.67 including a class I failed and I thought that GPA would not be high enough to transfer... Turns out that probably would have been my best chance.

Anyway I slept on two opportunities and I was wondering if the ship has sailed for transferring. I've been experimenting with majors but I ultimately want to get into Statistics and Economics.

What are my options in terms of transferring? My three top choices that are somewhat realistic are UCLA, Michigan, and Cal.

Since Michigan is rolling admission, should I be able to keep going to school at Davis then apply to transfer?

With places like UCLA and Cal, which I think only have fall admission, it seems the deadlines have passed and I would have to wait another year, which would really limit any chance because a senior transfer seems unlikely.

This is a bit of a 'loophole' I thought of. What if I took a year off from school to work and then applied to transfer, after being out of school for a year? If I keep going to school I will probably have too many units to transfer.
