My S has received 4 academic acceptances from Universities - but we have not heard from NYU. Can someone tell me if NYU sends out academic admissions subject to acceptance in MT?

Some colleges have a bifurcated process whereby admissions to the university is separate from admissions to the BFA. Examples: Indiana University, Otterbein University, Pace University, University of Hartford/Hartt. But some schools, such as NYU (or Syracuse or Carnegie Mellon) are ONE process. You are either admitted or denied for the WHOLE thing…to the university/program. At NYU, admissions involves 50% academic review, 50% artistic review, and it results in one admissions outcome. You will not hear from NYU until close to April 1 (often a few days before that) about admissions. You cannot be admitted to NYU, the university, without the Tisch acceptance, nor vice versa. There will be NO academic acceptance ever sent. You’re either admitted to NYU/Tisch, or you are not. You are not admitted separately to either aspect of the university.

Thank you, we know not to look for that envelope just yet.
