It said on the website that they start reviewing potentially eligible students in early September. Sounds a little late to me? Anyway, I think I've met all the requirements for this, but I'm not sure if I had to apply or register or something like that to qualify?

Also, on an unrelated note... would anyone happen to know why the university would suddenly switch my CalGrant from B to A today? I wasn't aware they were going to do this.

About the ACG you would have known if you qualified after you submitted the FAFSA it would have told you: If you are completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online ([FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid](http://www.fafsa.ed.gov)), FAFSA on the Web will predetermine if you are eligible to answer the ACG questions.

If you have submitted a paper FAFSA and have received your Student Aid Report (SAR) indicating that you may be eligible to answer the ACG questions, please call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4FED-AID.

I just figured that if I had actually received it, I’d have heard something about it by now.

@thickchick: Did you request for your Cal Grant to be changed? Mines was changed without my knowing. Also, no, my barc bill did not go up; in fact, it went significantly down. My financial aid advisor told me that, due to my circumstances, I don’t qualify for any university or UC grants. I think, according to your other thread, that you did, which would probably be the reason for why your barc bill went up. Since it went up exactly $100, you might also want to check if that was due to some sort of fee? But, anyway, I might prefer Grant B because of future years.

thickchick, i dont believe that is a fee. it is the amount of your refund check. you should have gotten an email explaining that you will get a refund in the form of check (or online transaction). i guess that money can be used for books, etc.
