so I got a 29 on the ACT, with math = 33 and english = 29.
To be eligible for Academic/Merit-based Scholarships, you NEED a 30 composite w/ 27 on math and eng. Should I retake it? The next date I can do it is December 13th.

Yes, retake and study! Take SAT also. My son took each three times. Raised ACT only 1 point on composite, but raised SAT 130 points!

I have a senior on a President's Endowed Scholarship. We found out in March of his senior year and were on campus over his spring break. We happened by the Honors Program office, so I asked how many PE they awarded. It was something like 700. Then the kind lady told me that the AVERAGE SAT score of those kids was 1498. I nearly passed out.

Son's freshman year he lived in Honors Dorm. At first mid-terms, all those not passing in the dorm were required to attend a meeting......he said nearly the entire dorm was gone to the meeting. Some of those super bright kids did not come back next semester or the following year; they flunked out. Didn't know how to study.

Good luck!

ty for the reply....I will def. retake both!
