This includes me D:
I really want to go out and just HAVE FUN! but it's not going to happen, it's like either you want good grades, or a social life. And I pick good grades :) but I really want to just have AT LEAST the weekend to myself.... High school suuucks! I want my life back...but I hope this pays off in the end ;)

You could just do both.

Many people have fun studying with friends and doing extracurriculars, further enhancing their social life.

I sacrifice sleep for good grades and a social life.

I “hang out” with my friends on the weekend through volunteering and having AP study groups with them. As mistervert stated above, it’s possible to balance both, very few “academic” people are completely isolated from the rest of society.

I feel your pain. It feels like I have no life sometimes, but I see a bunch of friends that at cross country/track practice everyday. That is like 2 hours or so a day that I talk with people and whatnot. It counts as social in my book, and definately helps break up the day. It’s things like this that make it a little easier to have some social aspects to my life.

Ohhkaaaay. Im not talking about “isolated” like I do hang put with my friends during school and class
But once I get home from school 7 hours of homework is a pain! And no fun absolutely ZERO!

7 hours of homework? I think that might have to do with your time management and efficiency, because I doubt you have 7 hours of homework, nonstop, that seems a tad cruel.

…and for your information, I derive quite a bit of fun from my AP US History note taking.
(I can feel the judgement)

Yeah I think management has to do with it: I tend to listen and facebook (you know how distracting technology) is.

That’s why I don’t have a Facebook, well, that and the fact that the privacy policy of Facebook is terrifying. I watched a Frontline documentary on a study that connected facebook use during homework/classwork with lower grades among MIT students.

Omg! I’m thinking about deleting it now, my texting, music, practically EVERYTHING! but I don’t know if I can live without it. Hahhaha

bigblimp, this is my dilemma as well.

I mean, I’m not going to blatantly tell you to delete your Facebook, that would come off as ignorant, however, when I did have a Facebook, I was pretty addicted to it, and I felt like deleting it would be the end of the world, but I got over it within a couple of days.

Sleep-Social Life-Studying

You can only pick 2. Choose wisely.

^ hahaha exactly my point!

you guys are definitions of geeks…just sayin

This is College Confidential. It is the norm.

Hey who are you calling geeks!
Hahaha I’m sureeee you’re one of us, considering you have a CC account :)

Academic people can have a life, it’s just a lot of people aren’t able to just sit in a class, do the work there, and then get an A on the test.

OP you’re 15 and your complaining about not having a life outside study. I don’t know what your aspirations are, but if you already have no social time at that age, things may only get worse.

Maybe some people actually enjoy studying . THAT is their life . College will not be easier !
