Academic Scholarship?

I intend to apply to UCSC in the next month or so (early action), and while I'm almost sure I'll get in, I'm not sure if I am willing to pay so much for an education.

I love the area and the vibe I got when I visited campus, so I'm definitely interested.

Would I get any money (and if so, how much) from UCSC?

GPA: 3.8 (10 AP Classes, don't know my weighted GPA yet)
SAT: 1800
ACT: 34 (12 writing)
SAT II CHEM: 720
PHYSICS: 740
MATH II: 740

Extra-curriculars: hockey, lacrosse, mock trial, hockey coach, NHS, etc (basically just fun sports and nothing major like internships)

My essay will be above average and I'll have pretty good recommendations

EDIT: im looking to major in Comp Engineering or Comp Science

If its calling your name apply and see what happens. I don’t think you’ll see much merit aid at the UCs or CSUs.

34 ACT is an awesome score - great work!

I’d suggest you apply a few more places.

You’ve got the sats to get into Cal Pol SLO which is a fair amount cheaper and by most accounts better.

Depending on your weighted CSU GPA (I’m guessing 4.1), you’ve probably got a good shot at Davis maybe UC San Diego.
