So Im attending Pomona College, my second semester I had a lot of things going on in life and as a result I did not do well. I was placed on academic suspension. I’ve reaized I dont really enjoy the college’s culture and I want to come closer to home. I want to transfer to the University of Alabama. Will my academic suspension affect my chances to transfer?
What did Pomona tell you that you need to do in order to lift the academic suspension? You will not get a letter from Pomona that indicates you are “in good standing” until you have done that. Whether or not U of AL will admit you while you are suspended from Pomona is up to U of AL. Contact the transfer admissions office there, and arrange to speak with one of the senior admissions officers so that you can find out what your options are at U of AL.
If your “lot of things going on” included medical or mental health issues, it may be worth asking Pomona if you can arrange a retroactive withdrawal for health reasons.
