academically dismissed

I attend school in florida and I was put on academic probation for one semester. I was unable to pull my grades above a 2.0 for the semester (even though my overall GPA with the college is a 2.55) and was academically dismissed. I am a senior and was literally 2 courses shy of graduating. I am attempting to petition my first semester that caused me to be placed on academic probation, but if that does not happen I will be forced to apply for renewal. I attended community college prior to transferring to the 4 year college, and had good grades my junior year but seemed to fall off my senior year (due to personal reasons going on). Is there anything I could do to finish my degree at another college? I read on another forum that it could be possible to transfer to another college after being academically dismissed from one college. Is there any truth to this? I know it is a long shot but I am desperate and willing to try anything. I am devastated that I allowed it to go this far. I should have filed the petition to withdraw earlier. Please only respond with factual information related to transferring to another four year college. thank you.
