ACC to Austin Ut or Texas A&M?

I’m Mexican and i just took the sat and my scores were bellow average (because im not good with English yet) so i was thinking of going to a community college like ACC or CTC and then transfer to Texas A&M or Austin UT. Im not top 10% tho, and i read that Austin Ut only lets applicants transfer from ACC if they r top 10%. What advice can you give a HS Senior, foreign to have a chance to go to college. Because i really want to go to college so i can have money to help support my family. I also want to major in architecture

What? Not at all. You can transfer if your college GPA was above a 2.5.

Also, your SAT scores really don’t matter all that much if you had a high HS gpa. If youre a TX resident, you also get priority in applying to Texas public unis. I wouldn’t worry too much. Maybe you could ask for accommodations in your SAT test? Or take the ACT… all questions on the SAT are quite heavy on language. But I would still highly recommend a proficiency in English if taking either test.

I think transferring into architecture might be next to impossible. You would have to start over as a freshman because this major is very sequenced with multi hour studio courses.

You should go speak with the counselor at ACC about your options.
