Accept UIUC but still in waitlist of another school

<p>Since most school request you to accept or enroll before May 1st. But if my first choice just offer waitlist for me, and will let me know the final decision after May 15th. May I accpet UIUC before May 1st? And if I decide to goto other school after May 15th, will UIUC allow this changes?</p>
