bananagirl: those scores look really good; you'd probably be in the top 25% of applicants based solely on test scores/GPA

Bananagirl

From what I hear, anything over a 2250 is definitely sufficient for acceptance into UPenn. Especially with your outstanding SAT II scores and GPA, you should have no problem. That is, unless you dont have any ECs or horrible letters of rec (which I severely doubt).

Maybe I'm just saying this because I got a 2240 and don't have nearly as good a GPA or SAT IIs as you and I want to attend UPenn as well hahaha. But that's the information I have gotten.

hmm well i have okay everything else, but i dont see how 2250 is equivalent to 1500. i got 800 math 690 cr and 790 writing, so woulnt that still be 1490?

go ahead and retake the SATI if you think you can substantially (like, 50-60 points) improve that CR and maintain or sustain a slight (20-30) point drop in math and writing. that would get you a significantly better total composite score.

no matter what though, i think you'd be fine for upenn, especially if you're not applying to wharton.

Your "composite" score would be 1490, according to those three scores. However, considering Writing, and after converting (multiply 2/3), your overall score is equivalent to 1520. Other than getting over 700 in CR, it seems you'll be fine for UPenn (ED).

Hahaha well first off mathematically your score (2280) would convert to a 1520 which is definitely sufficient for UPenn. The entire reason the SAT II Writing was added to the SAT I was because universities, especially Ivy Leagues, take into account the your writing score as well. So although you only got a 1490 on your CR and Math (which is still much higher than the avg at UPenn, seeing as how the avg at Harvard is 1450) your writing score more than makes up for it.

Good luck applying to Upenn, hopefully I'll see you there hahaa

(Btw just a question, are you planning to apply EA?)

im not 100% sure i want to go to upenn yet. I got into this upenn summer program so I'm hoping to see how campus life is like.
