What was your GPA again? Normally, LSU is pretty nice when they consider students who have decent scores but not so good gpas and vice versa. As long as your GPA is above a 3.0, I think you’ll be good to go.

yea my gpa is going to be probably like a 3.1 unweighted and a 3.7 weighted…

my GPA is 3.3 outa 5…and I had a 26 and I got in…I got accepted in like 10 days…you should have no problem

10 days? when did u apply?

Pakjan- You have a really good unweighted GPA. I don’t why you should be worried. For an outstater, it might be more difficult for you to get scholarships and aid to attend LSU unless your test scores balance out your GPA.

LSU doesn’t judge by weighted GPAs. However, if you have a rigourous course schedule and have done well in those classes, the admissions office does consider that.

BTW: If you apply to LSU over the summer, you get your acceptance earlier than during the normal school year. I applied on July 1st, and I got my acceptance July 6th. It also kind of helps that I also live in LA. It might take a week or more for notifications to reach you depending on your location.

really their app is out in july… most schools applications don’t come out unti august?

Yah, I would apply as soon as possible. Because I applied so early, I get to choose my housing for next year first. Apply as soon as possible. I think you can even start applying in June if you wanted to.

Pakjan…I applied like the end of Febuary, like Feb 27st …I applied online on a whim…the application took me about 20 minutes to fill out…and then I was done…and I heard back within literally like 8-10 days, the turn around time was almost instant…and then about 2 days after I even got a Tigers scholarship for having a 26 on ACT and it took off like 5,700 a year.

Im outa of state as well…my GPA isnt great like I said 3.3 out of 5 with a very weak course schedule, very easy classes…1 AP class in 4 years of HS and like 4-5 honors class in 4 years…only like 2 years of foreign language…and only 3 years of math and science…like I said…

LSU is not hard to get into, no essay nothing.

wow really? cool… college man do you go ther?

pak…im a senior in HS now…but in the fall I will be attending LSU …im going this weekend for the Spring Game and to check out the campus…like I said LSU is not that difficult to get into…I wanted to go to Ohio State but I didnt get in so Im going to LSU, if you want to be an architect or party its a good school

haha alright thanks

HI I am in state and I really want to go to LSU. I go to a private high school IN baton rouge. My GPA is a 3.09 (3.10) and I took the ACT 3 times and got a 21 the third time and am WORN OUT. I also am getting a recommendation from my English teacher. Do I have any chance? Many family members graduated from LSU.

-ANY advice or anything would help me A LOT.

Jordan2491- I wrote back to you on your other post in the other section.

College Man did you get any scholarships?

He said he got the Tiger Scholars scholarship, which is half off of the “non-resident fee.”

hey, i went to “apply online” at the lsu admissions website, but it always says ‘page not found.’ so how are you guys applying?

thanks

Computer glitch? The link is working fine now…I just checked. DS applied online on 6/1 and then did the online housing app a couple of weeks ago.

LSU is very easy to get into if you are an in-state student. If you don’t meet the requirements listed on the website even then it is possible with a good recommedation and volunteering. If you are still in high school and are wishing to gain acceptance…volunteer…

I applied March 10 of my senior year and got a letter saying i was accepted about three days later.

Also if you intend on going to LSU to party then your right its a great place. If you intend on going to LSU to party and graduate…good luck with that. lsu has about a 50% drop-out rate because people from everywhere come LSU to party…which you can every square foot of lsu…and fail. Bottom line LSU is NOT an easy school and it would be wise to not to dick around. I have a friend who was 4.5 weighted GPA 30 on ACT who tried partying at LSU and currently has a 1.2 GPA…

^Ouch. I’ve known lots of people who were really smart in high school, but their grades dropped at LSU for the same reason.

lol, it was working great for the past week; but the ‘apply online’ glitch is back… uhhhh
